Personal Items Used as Markers
"Our God is powerful, and He has made provision for our deliverance." — Reflect on Psalm 138:8
Why Some Rituals Require an Object
Practitioners of lesser power often require a personal possession before they can direct a curse at someone.
Common items include photographs, hair or nail clippings, and articles of clothing.
The reason is straightforward. These items function as markers. The spirits involved in such rituals require something to identify the specific person they are being sent to afflict. The object serves as an address.
This is why, in cultures where such practices are common, people are careful about what they leave behind — hair at a barber, clothing on a line, a photograph in the wrong hands.
What to Do If You Suspect It
If you can retrieve the object, retrieve it. That is the simplest resolution.
Usually you cannot. Do not be discouraged by this, because God has made provision for exactly this difficulty.
Ask the Lord to destroy any such item taken from you and to render it useless for any such purpose. He is entirely able to do this, and He is not limited by your not knowing what was taken or where it is.
Then break the curses. In the name of Jesus Christ, command every curse sent through those items to be broken and every spirit associated with them to leave forever.
That is the whole procedure. It is short because it does not depend on your information.
Keeping This in Proportion
Two cautions, because this teaching is easily distorted.
First, do not become fearful about ordinary life. You cannot control every photograph of you that exists, every hair you have shed, or every garment you have discarded. God knows this. He did not build a system in which your freedom depends on your ability to track your own belongings.
The blood of Jesus Christ is not defeated by an object in someone else's hands.
Second, do not become superstitious. The power in such rituals does not reside in the hair or the photograph. It resides in spirits who use the item as a reference. Remove the spirits' right and the item is inert.
The remedy is spiritual, not logistical. You are not trying to win a scavenger hunt.
Point to Ponder
Your freedom does not depend on your ability to track your own belongings. The blood of Jesus is not defeated by an object in someone else's hand.
Verse to Remember
"The LORD will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever." — Psalm 138:8
Question to Consider
Has anything of mine been taken by someone involved in the occult — and have I ever prayed about it?
Today's Practice
Think about whether anything personal has been taken or given in a concerning context: photographs, hair, clothing, jewelry, a personal item given to a practitioner, or something surrendered during a period of occult involvement in your own life.
Also consider things you gave freely to someone in a relationship that later became controlling or hostile.
Then pray, once and thoroughly:
"Father, if anything belonging to me has been taken and used in any ritual against me or my family, I ask You to destroy it and render it completely useless for any such purpose.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I break every curse sent against me through any personal item — every photograph, every article of clothing, every piece of hair or nail, everything belonging to me that has been used in any ritual. I command every one of those curses broken now, and I command every spirit associated with them to leave me and my household forever.
I belong to Jesus Christ, and no marker, no ritual, and no object gives anyone any claim on me."
Then leave it with Him and do not think about it again.
Prayer
Father, I cannot control what has left my hands over the course of my life. You can.
If anything of mine has been taken and used against me or my family, destroy it. Render it useless. Let it accomplish nothing.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I break every curse sent against me through any personal item, and I command every spirit associated with those curses to leave me and my household now and forever.
Keep me from fear and from superstition. My security is not in tracking my possessions. My security is in the blood of Your Son.
I belong to Jesus Christ. No one else has any claim. Amen.
Pray it once, thoroughly, and then stop thinking about it. That is part of the freedom.
