Hatred That Becomes a Curse
"Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him." — 1 John 3:15
Curses Spoken Without Ritual
Curses do not always require ceremonies. Very often a curse is sent simply by being spoken.
When this is deliberate, it is usually done by someone involved in occult practice. But believers fall into it constantly and have no idea what they are doing.
"But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned." (Matthew 12:36–37)
God holds us directly accountable for every word we say. Our words are not decoration. They carry weight in the spiritual realm.
What God Says About Hatred
"Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him." (1 John 3:15)
That is not hyperbole. In the reckoning of God, hatred held in the heart is counted as murder.
And it does more than damage the one holding it. Hatred allows spirits to afflict the person hated. The hatred itself becomes a curse.
People have been afflicted with all manner of disaster and physical illness because of the intense hatred of others directed at them. The one hating may never speak a word of it aloud. The intensity of the hatred is itself the sending.
This should make every one of us examine our hearts, because most of us are more comfortable with our resentments than we admit.
If You Are the One Being Hated
The path to victory here is often surprisingly simple, and it runs through you rather than through them.
Forgive the person who hates you. Out loud, by name. Not because they deserve it — because forgiveness is what breaks your end of the connection.
Break every curse sent through that hatred, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Command every spirit associated with it to leave you and your household.
Then ask the Lord for specific shielding against hatred directed at you in the future. That is a legitimate request and He grants it.
And then bless them, as the earlier lessons taught.
If You Are the One Hating
This is the harder application, and it is the one most readers actually need.
If you are holding hatred toward someone — a parent, a former spouse, a colleague, someone who genuinely wronged you — understand what you are doing. You are not merely nursing a private feeling. You are probably inflicting something on them, and you are certainly opening a door in yourself.
"You must also be aware that if you allow jealousy, bitterness, or hatred to dwell in your heart, you will come under a curse of destruction."
Be quick to repent for it. Be quick to forgive. The delay costs you far more than it costs them.
Point to Ponder
Hatred held privately is still a sending. It afflicts them, and it opens a door in you.
Verse to Remember
"Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him." — 1 John 3:15
Question to Consider
Whose name makes my chest tighten when I hear it?
Today's Practice
Write down the names of everyone toward whom you hold hatred, resentment, contempt, or a settled grudge. Include the dead. Include those you have not seen in decades. Include family.
Then, for each name, pray aloud:
"Father, I confess that I have hated ______. You call it murder, and I will not call it anything less. Forgive me and cleanse me by the blood of Jesus Christ.
In the name of Jesus, I forgive ______ completely for ______. I release them. I hold nothing against them.
I break every curse I have sent against them through my hatred, and I ask You to lift from them anything that came through me.
Father, bless them. Have mercy on them. Save them."
Then, separately, deal with hatred directed at you: break it, dismiss the spirits, ask for shielding, and bless the sender.
Prayer
Father, I have carried hatred and called it something more respectable — standards, boundaries, discernment, being realistic about people.
You call it murder. I agree with You.
Forgive me and cleanse me. Take it out of me completely — not managed, not suppressed, but removed. I do not want to carry this another day.
I forgive every person I have hated. I release them all. I break every curse I have sent through my own bitterness, and I ask You to undo whatever damage I have done.
And where hatred has been sent against me, I break it in the name of Jesus Christ and command every spirit associated with it to leave. Shield me and my household from it going forward.
Bless those who hate me, Lord. Save them. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Your resentment is not a private feeling. It is a transmission.
