The One Who Taught You

"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." — John 8:36

Breaking the Tie

Today you break them. Here is how.

Breaking an unholy soul tie has four parts. Do them in order, out loud, one person at a time.

One — repent of the sin involved. Where you participated, name it and turn from it. Where the sin was done to you, skip this part; there is nothing for you to repent of.

Two — forgive the person. By name, for what they specifically did. Release the debt.

Three — break the tie. Explicitly, by name, in the authority of Jesus Christ.

Four — command what came through it to leave, and ask God to restore what it took.

The Words

There is no magic formula, but here is a template that has been used effectively many times. Adapt the wording; keep the four elements.

"Father, in the name of Jesus Christ:

I repent of the sin I committed with ________. It was wrong. I am sorry, and I turn from it.

I forgive ________ for ________. I release the debt entirely. They do not owe me anymore.

I now break the unholy soul tie between me and ________. I sever it in the name and authority of Jesus Christ. Every connection formed between us is cut. Everything of them that is on me, I return to them. Everything of mine that is on them, I take back.

And I command every spirit that gained access to my life through this tie to leave me now, in the name of Jesus. You have no legal right here. It is gone.

Father, restore what came through that door. Amen."

Practical Guidance

Do them individually. One person at a time, by name. A blanket "I break all soul ties" has the same weakness as a blanket confession — it names nothing, so nothing specific is severed.

Where you do not know a name, describe the occasion in a way that identifies it to you. God knows who is meant.

Include the dead. Death does not dissolve these.

Do not skip the forgiveness step. It is not optional and it is frequently the part that makes the difference.

Expect it to take time. If your list is long, this is several sessions, not one afternoon. That is normal.

Some people feel something. Many feel nothing. Both are fine. The transaction is legal, not emotional. Do not judge whether it worked by sensation — judge by what changes over the following days.

Point to Ponder

One name at a time. Blanket prayers sever nothing, because they name nothing.

Verse to Remember

"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." — John 8:36

Question to Consider

Whose name am I most reluctant to say out loud in this prayer — and why?

Today's Practice

Take your soul tie list and begin.

Find somewhere private where you can speak out loud without being overheard. This matters — these are said aloud.

Start with the easiest names. Build up.

Work through as many as you can manage. When you become exhausted — and you will — stop. Mark where you finished. Return tomorrow.

Cross off each name as you complete it.

When you are done for the day, check your issue grid and record today's intensity numbers. Do not expect a dramatic result and do not be discouraged by its absence. Simply record.

Some people experience immediate and obvious change. Others notice over days that something they used to feel has quietly stopped being there.

Prayer

Father, I am cutting these connections today, one name at a time.

Give me courage for the names I do not want to say. Give me honesty in the forgiving. Give me authority in the breaking.

Where I participated, I repent. Where I was harmed, I forgive. Every tie, severed in the name of Jesus.

Send back what belongs to them. Give me back what belongs to me. Close every door and let nothing come through again.

If the Son sets me free, I am free indeed. Make that true of me today. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Say the names out loud. That is the whole method.
