It Is God's Job to Remind You
"When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth." — John 16:13
How the Reminding Actually Happens
Yesterday established whose job this is. Today, what it looks like in practice — because people who do not know what to expect often miss it entirely.
Consider a woman in her seventies, wheelchair-bound for eleven years with extreme pain in one foot. Three surgeries, none successful. She had been a missionary for fifty years and had by every account lived a righteous life.
She was walked through a standard list of questions.
Have you ever had sex outside of marriage? No. Do you have unforgiveness toward anyone? No. Have you ever dabbled in the occult — a Ouija board, a séance? No.
One after another, every question came back no. The list was nearly exhausted.
Have you ever been part of a secret society or taken any secret oaths? No.
And then, before the next question could be asked, she interrupted excitedly: "Wait! God just reminded me of a secret oath I took a long time ago. I was involved in a girls' organization in high school and took a secret oath as part of the initiation. I don't even remember what I said."
She had answered no to that exact question moments earlier. She was not lying. She genuinely did not remember — until the moment she did.
They repented of it. The pain left instantly. She got out of the wheelchair and walked without pain, and three months later was still walking.
What to Notice About That
The reminder came during the process, not before it. She could not have produced that memory sitting alone trying to think of things. It arrived while she was actively engaged in seeking.
The questions helped even when the answers were no. Going through a systematic list is not wasted effort when the answers come back negative. The questions stir the ground.
She had already denied it once. Do not treat your first answer as final. Ask, sit, and let it settle.
Fifty years had passed. Age is no protection. Something from high school was still operating in a woman in her seventies.
What This Requires of You
Two things.
Engagement. Revelation tends to come to people who are actively working, not to people waiting passively for a vision. Ask the questions. Go through the categories. Do the work, and the reminders arrive in the middle of it.
Attentiveness. When something surfaces, catch it. It rarely arrives with fanfare. It usually feels like an ordinary passing thought — which is exactly why most people let it go by.
"When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth." Guidance is progressive. He shows you what is next, and when you deal with it, He shows you the next thing.
Point to Ponder
She had answered "no" to that exact question ninety seconds earlier. Your first answer is not your final one.
Verse to Remember

Question to Consider
When something surfaces in my mind that I would rather not look at, do I write it down or let it pass?
Today's Practice
Work through a systematic list of questions, out loud, one at a time. After each, pause for ten full seconds before moving on. The pause is where things surface.
Have I had sexual relations outside of marriage? Do I hold unforgiveness toward anyone — living or dead? Have I been involved in anything occult — Ouija boards, séances, tarot, horoscopes, mediums, spells, curses? Have I taken any oath, pledge, or vow in any organization? Have I been involved with drugs or alcohol? Have I stolen, lied for gain, or defrauded anyone? Have I been violent toward anyone? Have I used pornography? Have I abandoned or betrayed someone? Have I spoken curses over myself or others? Have I been involved in another religion or its practices?
Write down everything, including things that seem trivial or ancient. Especially those.
If nothing comes today, ask again tomorrow. The answers often arrive on the second or third pass.
Prayer
Father, I am asking the questions and I am listening for the answers.
Bring things to my mind — including things I have already told myself are not there. My first answer is not always the true one.
Holy Spirit, You are the Spirit of truth. Guide me into it, one item at a time. I will write down whatever comes and I will not dismiss it because it seems small or old.
Show me what is next. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
